Ceramics by Dawn Vachon
Dawn Vachon is a Melbourne (Coburg) based potter and artist. After studying visual art at Emily Carr University of Art and Design in Vancouver, Canada, she up and moved down under.
Dawn’s utilitarian wares tend to begin with a special clay body or glaze formula – the forms evolve through working to accentuate these materials while maintaining functionality.
Dawn develops and hand-makes her glazes to compliment her wheel thrown and hand-built wares.
Some of her pieces are wheel thrown, some hand built. Some are glazed meticulously neat, others are gestural and painterly. Different styles for different moods.
Works shown are part of a special commission by The Boroughs.
