Short Shard studs - gold plated
Melbourne will forever be associated with fractal design references thanks to the striking architecture of Federation Square. The use of fractal triangles was used by Lab architecture studio to symbolise the concept of Federation, of people coming together. Tara Lofhelm may not have consciously absorbed this reference, however like most design conscious Melbournaians it's hard to imagine it didn't infiltrate her thoughts.
Just like Fed Square (as the locals call it), these shard stud earrings are enduring favourites of the locals.
Materials: 21 carat gold-plated, sterling silver.
Originally planning to become a writer, Tara completed a Bachelor of Creative Arts, majoring in English. Upon completion, she instead acknowledged her ever-present passion for jewellery and completed the Advanced Diploma of Engineering (Jewellery) at Northern Metropolitan Institute of TAFE in 2008. She has since worked from a studio in Brunswick, producing commercial ranges, private commissions and exhibition pieces, while continuing to amass a jewellery collection that is slowly outgrowing the size of most people's wardrobes.
