Tara is a Brunswick based ceramicist.
Her current work focuses on creating simple, functional objects that express materiality, quietness and space.
Tara is interested in the relationship of objects to one another, the spaces between things and the way that this affects the way we see the objects both as a group and individually.
Shackell uses the wheel and hand-building to create her work.
Her stoneware and porcelain pieces explore the relationship between form and surface, and the subtle interactions which can occur between the clays and glazes.
Tara graduated from VCA with a Bachelor of Fine Art (Photography), later completing a Diploma of Visual Art (Ceramics).
The purity of her forms and the subtly of her glazes make them timeless investment pieces.
